The "Alcazar de los Reyes" was the summer Palace of the King and Queen. In 1489 Columbus met here with Fernado and Isabel prior to sailing off to find a new route to the Indies. This statue, in the garden of the "Alcazar de los Reyes", commemorates Isabel and Fernando's meeting with Columbus.  The Gardens of the Alcazar are the primary reason to visit this Palace. The renovated Palace does have some Roman mosaics on its walls. | |
