Lübeck’s Jakobikirche, or Church of St. Jacob was built from 1334. It is a Gothic church which was originally the parish church for the seamen working from the town. Inside you will find the impressive Brombse Altar in the south aisle chapel, with a carving by Hinrik Brabender. In the main body of the church, the pillars feature Gothic paintings. The Baroque organ and wooden staircase leading to it are also of note. The church is still used for services.
